In fact, many of these recently discontinued SUVs are reliable and come at reasonably affordable prices. The used Ford Flex and the Volkswagen Golf Alltrack are two of the best options, both of which can also be called wagons.  

The used Ford Flex is among the top SUVs

Though technically a wagon, the Ford Flex is one of the top SUVs for people looking for a used option. Ford produced it from 2008 until 2019 when the automaker discontinued it due to low sales. Despite no longer being in production, many buyers have realized how well-rounded the Ford Flex is. Not only is it spacious, but it’s a solid option for people who need reliable SUVs. 

Of course, most buyers will go for a later model used Ford Flex because they have more modern features. Regarding the 2019 model, it uses a 3.5-liter engine that makes 287 horsepower and has a torque of 254 lb-ft. It has front and all-wheel drive configurations. According to Edmunds, there’s also a turbocharged powertrain that makes 365 horsepower.

The used Ford Flex from 2019 is also one of the top SUVs because it’s spacious, as it can seat up to seven people. Additionally, it can accommodate 83.2 cubic feet of cargo with the seats folded. It’s also important to note that J.D Power gave the used Ford Flex from 2019 a “great” rating for quality and reliability. 

The used Golf Alltrack is also solid

Another of the top SUVs for used buyers is the 2019 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack. With this one, the automaker took one of its most popular cars and turned it into a small SUV. People like the used Volkswagen Golf Alltrack because despite being small, it packs a punch when it comes to performance. Additionally, it’s spacious and offers solid cargo storage.

It’s one of the top used SUVs in its category because it uses a turbocharged 1.8-liter engine with a maximum output of 168 horsepower. Its torque is 199 lb-ft. This is an all-wheel drive SUV that has manual and automatic transmission options. The manual version of this SUV accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 6.7 seconds while it takes the automatic configurations a little longer.

Regarding space, the used Volkswagen Golf Alltrack is also one of the top SUVs. It offers up to 66.5 cubic feet of cargo storage and seats five people. It comes standard with a 6.5-inch touchscreen but higher trims offer an eight-inch unit.
