Nowadays, many people looking for the best SUV to buy go with used models. This is the case due to the price and because many people don’t trust brand-new vehicles. However, one woman’s experience with a 2021 Kia Sorento and its massive transmission problems is a cautionary tale for buyers. Here’s her story. 

This 2021 Kia Sorento had severe transmission problems

Many people consider the Kia Sorento the best SUV to buy. It’s been a popular option for several years. According to Daily Dot, Dani (@dani_bannani) recently took to TikTok to share her experience with a 2021 Kia Sorento. For context, she purchased it brand-new. Dani admitted to having issues with this Kia right after buying it, but she later started to have transmission problems. 

Regarding the transmission problems in her 2021 Kia Sorento, it has had three replacements. Sadly, this didn’t help with her experience. Things were so bad that she even asked the Kia dealership if they had put a used transmission in her car after the third replacement. They told her it was brand new, which came as a surprise. More recently, she has experienced sputtering with her SUV.  

The automaker was willing to buy back the vehicle because of the continued transmission problems with the 2021 Kia Sorento. She is now driving a Sportage. Though she wanted something else, she says they offered her a nice rebate, and she has no negative equity in the new car. 

The 2021 Kia Sorento is known to have some issues. It has three recalls, one of which impacts the transmission. Still, many people have this model with no issues.
