Used Nissan Rogue models are popular for people looking for the top small SUVs. However, there may be better options than the now-discontinued Nissan Rogue Sport. This is the case because it offers lackluster performance and has many other drawbacks that make it not the best choice. In fact, many people say you should go for a used Mazda CX-30 instead.

The Used Nissan Rogue Sport isn’t among the top small SUVs for performance

The Nissan Rogue Sport feels underpowered to most people who drive it. According to Edmunds, the 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport uses a 2.0-liter inline-four engine that makes 141 horsepower with a torque of 147 lb-ft. Like many Nissan vehicles, it has a continuously variable transmission. This model offers configurations for front and all-wheel drive, which is a plus for many.

The 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport also isn’t one of the top small SUVs because of its speed. It takes the Rogue variant about 10.2 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour. For comparison, used Mazda CX-30 models from the same year only need 8.3 seconds to get from 0 to 60 miles per hour. Fuel economy in the Rogue Sport also isn’t great, as it averages about 25 miles per gallon in the city and 32 MPG on the highway.

Used buyers should note that the regular used Nissan Rogue from 2022, which is bigger, gets better fuel economy. This is because the standard models use three-cylinder engines but have a turbocharger to make them more powerful.

The Sport has various issues

Despite the less-than-stellar performance, many people liked the Nissan Rogue Sport. However, as with most vehicles, there are reports of issues with various models. One of the complaints about what some call one of the top small SUVs has to do with the continuously variable transmission. Among the biggest complaints is that people noticed the SUV wouldn’t stay in park. While not widespread, this is a major concern.

Additionally, some people noticed that the Rogue Sport would jerk or launch forward. There are also reports of drivers having difficulty accelerating. Besides the transmission, various issues with components such as the infotainment system and other electrical accessories make it not the best choice.

Some people like the used Nissan Rogue Sport, while others hate it. Still, there are much better options on the used market for buyers looking for the top small SUVs. This is especially the case for people who want something even remotely swift.
