The Ford Explorer is a bit of a controversial vehicle. It’s not always the best SUV, but it’s undeniably one of the most discussed. Luckily, the Ford Explorer 2023 gets quite a few things right. The 2023 Ford Explorer may not be a perfect vehicle, but it’s still not a bad choice for people seeking a new midsize SUV.

Here’s what the new Explorer gets right.

The 2023 Ford Explorer has inspired engine options

One of the highlights of the Ford Explorer is usually its performance. Of all the trims, the Ford Explorer XLT is one of the most popular. According to Car and Driver, the Ford Explorer 2023 XLT has a 2.3-liter engine under its hood with a maximum output of 300 horsepower. According to reports, this version of the 2023 Ford Explorer accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about 6.8 seconds.

For those seeking something with a bit more power, the Ford Explorer 2023 comes in many other more advanced trims. The King Ranch, ST, and Platinum trims all have a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter 400 horsepower engine. Of course, there is also a hybrid version of the Ford Explorer. The new Ford Explorer is a rear-wheel drive vehicle with the option to make it all-wheel drive.

The new Ford SUV is stylish

Many negative things have been said about the Ford Explorer. However, what has always been true is that it’s an objectively attractive vehicle. The same is still true for the 2023 version of the Ford SUV. The new Explorer has a bold, sporty look that still catches peoples’ eyes.

The vehicle features dramatic lines that make it stand out from the rest of its class. Not only that, but the front grille is brilliantly designed and helps make it a well-balanced SUV. The wheel sizes for the new Ford Explorer range from 18 to 21 inches. It has nine exterior color options, with the Red Jewel Metallic being new.

The 2023 Ford Explorer interior is well made and functional

The interior of the Ford Explorer 2023 may not be the best on the market. However, it’s both sturdy and stable. One of the major problems with many interiors on newer vehicles is that they break easily. Sure, they may be more eye-catching than this one, but they don’t last.

The latest Ford Explorer has an eight-inch touchscreen that works with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, some of the advanced trims have a 10.1-inch screen with better specs. Neither are the most advanced, but they are not the worst on the market either. Unfortunately, there is no knob to help make navigating the infotainment system easier.

With increased competition, the Ford Explorer is less attractive than it once was. However, the Explorer 2023 is still a solid option for a midsize SUV. It had good ratings, multiple trim options, and a durable interior. In addition, it doesn’t hurt that it’s among the most stylish new SUVs. While not most people’s top choice, there is still reason to consider the new Ford Explorer.
